In just a few weeks, the AI successfully identified thousands of previously unknown zero-day vulnerabilities, including:
- A 27-year-old vulnerability in OpenBSD, a highly secure operating system that underpins critical infrastructure, which permitted attackers to remotely crash any OpenBSD machine merely by connecting to it.
- A 16-year-old vulnerability in FFmpeg, a widely used open-source framework for video encoding and decoding.
- Multiple vulnerabilities within the Linux kernel that granted attackers the ability to escalate their access and gain total control over a machine.
The autonomous detection of these security flaws by Claude Mythos demonstrates its potential as an invaluable tool for the future of cybersecurity.
